240 Hour Class A CDL Truck Driving Training

Program Description
This course is designed to teach the basics of driving a commercial motor vehicle with eligibility for three endorsements: Hazmat, Tanker, Doubles-Triples. This course covers the following through classroom instruction, hands on training, lab, skills and road. Permit-prepare for general knowledge, combination vehicle and Air Brakes state exams. Basic-operation-introduce students to the components of the tractor-trailer and basic maneuvers. Student will have the skill to conduct a pre-trip and knowledge to operate a tractor-trailer. Operating practices-students will learn how to practice safe operation techniques on the road. Develop skills to recognize hazards and handle the vehicle malfunctions to prevent an accident. Activities-principles of handling cargo, documentation, hours of service. The school will prepare and help you for employment. Student must complete training and take the final state test within five months after enrollment.
Student will receive one on one behind the wheel lessons with an instructor. Student will receive two additional lessons if they fail skills or road with the State.

Application Procedure
After the student is accepted into the WIOA program they should set up an appointment at the school. They should bring with them their Drivers License and proof of residency. Our advisor will go over our CDL training program and make sure that the applicant meets the trucking driving industry standards: 18 years of age, valid IL Driver's License, clean record. During this time they will also be given the schools agreement, rules of conduct and all DOT regulations regarding drug and alcohol testing. The maximum tuition and fees amount approved for this occupation is $5,000.
