Program Description

This course includes 160 hours of instruction. Those hours consist of: 40 hours of classroom time, 60 hours of remedial time, 20 hours of observation time, 20 hours of yard practice, and 20 hours on the road training. This program is intended to provide the necessary skills to pass the CDL examination as well as to be able to enter the trucking industry as an over-the-road or local driver. The program satisfies Federal requirements regarding Entry Level Driver Training

Application Procedure

All of the testing and school materials are provided by the school. To register to school the potential student must bring a valid IL Driver's license, Social Security number and the voucher provided by WIOA. The maximum tuition and fees amount approved for this occupation is $5,000.

  • Reading - 9th grade level
  • Language - Basic Skills
  • Prerequisites - Valid Illinois Drivers License, must be 18 years of age or older
