Program Description
The Basic Nursing Assistant Program consists of 120 clock hours coordinated theory, lab and clinical learning activities. The program covers concepts on basic nursing skills. It is designed to prepare students to function under the supervision of the Registered Nurse in various healthcare settings. Successful completion of the program will lead to eligibility to sit for the competency exam administered by Southern Illinois University-Carbondale (SIUC). Upon successful passing of the state competency exam, the student's name will be added in the Nurse Aide Registry which means that a student can work as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in healthcare facilities.

Application Procedure
1. The prospective student must be at least 16 years of age and must have a valid social security number. 2. The prospective student must call and speak with the admissions rep at 630-855-3977 to make an appointment to register. 3. A reading proficiency of at least 10th grade level must be achieved, a Wonderlic Test is to be given in school. 4. A criminal background check application will be initiated in school through an approved livescan vendor. 5. A physical examination, which includes TB test must be submitted by first day of school. 6. The prospective student must present a copy of health insurance coverage if available.
The maximum tuition and fees amount approved for this occupation is $3,000.
