Program Description

Utilizing the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) Professional Medical Coding Curriculum, an AAPC licensed instructor and certified coding staff, teach students how to use the three HIPAA approved coding books (CPT-4, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS Level II). Abstract documentation from a medical record, and utilize AMA and CMS coding guidelines, to support medical necessity and select the correct code(s) to represent the medical services provided and billed. Once a student successfully completes the program, they are prepared and eligible to sit for the AAPC CPC and/or the AAPC COC National Exam. If the student passes the exams with a grade of 70% or higher, they receive AAPC certification.

Application Procedure

When LS Coding and Education LLC. is contacted by a potential enrollment we contact the clients Case Manager and provide them with our information and a proposal letter that includes a start and end date as well as a cost breakdown. Once an approved voucher or funds are received we then enroll the student into the program on the approved start date. The Case Manager will then receive monthly progress reports on the students progress such as attendance, grades and certificates. The maximum tuition and fees amount approved for this occupation is $5,000.
