Program Description

Our building construction technician apprenticeship that is introduction to the construction industry; and is recognized and accredited by National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER). It is designed introduce and ground trainees in the basic knowledge and principles of carpentry, construction safety, construction technology, drywall, electrical, HVAC, masonry, painting, plumbing and site layout. Program trainees will also receiving financial literacy and career readiness training. The financial literacy course will be equipped trainees with the skills and knowledge thats needed to effectively manage money. And the career readiness course will explore ten foundational workplace skills regarding work ethic. Program trainees will receive an OSHA 10 credential upon completion along with a variety of safety certifications. The goal of this apprenticeship is to assist trainees to not only met but exceed program goals, to provide needed support services and explore open network opportunities for job placement throughout Northern Illinois. Successful completion of this program is based on performance, progression, goal attainment and follow-up services.
