Program Description

Bulldog offers a training program that consists of 240 hours. These hours are representative of what the Secretary of State of Illinois requires to obtain a CDL class A license. Our goal is to provide necessary instruction and prepare the students to be proficient and educated in the trucking industry. As well as to be safe and responsible. Our method of training consists of a set of study guides that include thorough classroom hours, viewing of instructional videos, sample test as well as hands on training. Bulldog Driving School prepares students for their CLP permit; per Secretary of State exams and Federal guidelines. Students learn to conduct a proficient pre-trip inspection in accordance with CDL requirements per State of Illinois and Federal guidelines. They will become skilled in troubleshooting minor mechanical issues. Bulldog familiarizes students with tractor-trailer systems and components. The focus of these courses is on the safe and proper handling of semi tractor-trailers, both in restricted areas and on public streets and express ways. Students are exposed to many different driving conditions, such as two-lane roads, highways and weather.

Entry Requirements: Pass Drug/Alcohol Screening Pass DOT Physical Exam Reading - Basic English Language - Basic English Prerequisites - At least 18 years of age, valid IL Driver's License. The maximum tuition and fees amount approved for this occupation is $5,000.
