Program Description
The Basic Nurse Assistant Training Program is an entry-level training program that prepares the student in Basic Nursing care to be able to work in a healthcare setting after graduation, successful completion of the training program and passing of the Illinois Nurse Aide Competency Exam. The student will attend all the theoritical portion of the traing in basic human anatomy and physiology, basic care of the resident, patient or client at a healthcare facility or at their homes. The training prepares the student to be knowledgible in basic human characteristics needed to succeed in the healthcare industry professionaly and for educational enhancement
The training program provides classroom and laboratory instructions at the school site by a Registered Nurse (RN) who have attended the Train-The-Trainer program to be qualify to teach the class.

Application Procedure
1. Must be at least 16 years of age
2. Must have high school diploma, GED equivalent or satisfactory score of 80% on completion of a basic English and math at the 6th grade math and reading placement exam.
3. A Physical examination by a licensed physician, which includes a TB test, MMR, T-Dap. This is required before a student can start clinical rotation.
4. A Criminal Background Check with the IL State Police at the beginning of the training in compliance with the Health Care Worker Background Check Act clearance before clinical rotation.
5. Proof of Medical Health Insurance coverage.
6. Application can be completed in-person or on our school website: www.covenanthealthcareinstitute.org
