Program Description

In partnership with PayrollOrg (formerly the American Payroll Association), DePaul University teaches the PayTrain® information in the Payroll Certificate Program. This comprehensive professional development series is designed to provide a solid foundation for those new to the field while offering advanced mastery for seasoned professionals. The program consists of two primary coursesPayTrain® Fundamentals and PayTrain® Masterywhich together provide the technical knowledge and practical skills required to maintain compliance and excel in payroll administration. Dual Certification Preparation This program is specifically designed to help students prepare for the nationally recognized industry credentials offered by PayrollOrg: Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC): Ideal for entry-level professionals, practitioners, and those in supporting roles (consultants, service providers) seeking to validate their foundational knowledge. To enroll, participants should submit a completed registration form, student agreement, and payment information to DePaul Continuing and Professional Education (cperegistration@depaul.edu) at least seven days before the course begins. Please note that the costs for the course textbook is included in the cost of the class. The cost of a payroll certification exam is not included in the tuition; these requirements are managed by entities separate from DePaul University.
