Program Description
Governors State University's Bachelor of Science in Computer Science provides a balance between theoretical and applied study, with experiences leading to expertise in subjects ranging from website creation to networking problems. The program includes classroom and practical experience in the computer lab. Internships with the university, local businesses, and national research organizations help enhance the computer science program.
This program prepares students for such profitable careers as programmers, systems designers, software engineers, and datebase professionals. It requires a 120 credit hours of study, 60 of which are completed at GSU since we are a senior institution that accepts credits from other institutions such as Illinois community colleges.
