Program Description
South Suburban College's Echocardiography Program will provide students with an opportunity to become entry level skilled technicians in Echocardiography. Technicians assist physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiac and peripheral vascular ailments. Graduates will be prepared for licensure and work as an entry level cardiac technician. The field of Echocardiology technology continues to be a field who enjoy minimally invasive medical work. Echocardiography technicians have a lot of hands-on time with their patients and most find their jobs personally rewarding. Salaries of technicians as well as job availability are increasing in great numbers.

Application Procedure
Initial contact in Room #4461. Complete application and registration forms. Students applying to the Echocardiography (ECHO) must: 1. Complete the prerequisites: ENG 101, BIO 185, FAD 205 and PHY 115. 2. Submit SSC application/registration form. 3. Admissions to the program will be determined by a ranking of the GPA of the program prerequisite course. 4. Submit Echocardiography application to the program by mail or in person (Room 4453) no later than May 15. 5. Score of 75% or better on Admission test. 6. You will be notified in writing of your admission staus no later than May 15th. The maximum tuition and fees approved for this occupation is $3,000.
