Program Description

The Cosmetology Certificate offers students hands-on training in all facets of cosmetology, including hairstyling, esthetics, chemical services, nail services, salon operations, and license review. The program meets the standards of the Illinois Department of Finance and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) in total hours, teaching staff, equipment, facilities, libraries and course content. Students are required to complete at least 1500 hours in the Cosmetology Program. Once students have completed all coursework and laboratory hours, they are eligible to sit for the state licensure examination through IDFPR. Students must be licensed by the State of Illinois in order to practice cosmetology.
