Program Description
This 8-credit-hour certificate program prepares students for positions as assistants in a business office. Students are introduced to advanced word processing and spreadsheets, the use of the Internet including Web browsing and email, and integrated use of word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software. Students are also introduced to office skills such as time and records management and collaboration. this certificate is the first in a two-certificate sequence and may be followed by the Administrative Assistant Certificate.

Application Procedure
3WIOA and TAA students need to contact the Harper College Workforce Coordinator at (847) 925-6782 or WIOA@harpercollege.edu. A separate book voucher is required for Follett Bookstore #1341 on campus. Books can be ship if requested for a small fee. Each semester, all Cook County WIOA sending agency case managers must supply the Harper College Workforce Coordinator with a Semester Training Schedule Approval Form that lists the courses the client will be taking that semester, and this must match the client's Harper Educational Plan.4
The maximum tuition and fees approved for this occupation is $3,000.

- Other - All credit-seeking WIOA clients must have initial & ongoing academic advising
