Program Description
This curriculum prepares students for employment as automotive technicians. Through classroom study of automotive principles combined with hands-on experience, students learn about design, function, diagnosis and proper repair procedures for all major systems related to the automobile. It also prepares students for the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification exams. Students are encouraged to take specific ASE exams upon completion of related courses. Succesful completion of these exams certifies the student as a Master Automobile Technician. This program is certified by the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF).

Application Procedure
The Career Coach or student should contact the Career Services Office at 708-656-8000 ext. 2468 to make an appointment to have the exploration form completed. Prerequisite courses and placement tests may be required which will increase total costs. Students are responsible for taking college placement test (when needed). All information is current as of Fall 2020 and is subject to change (including cost of books, fees and required materials). Student must have picture ID or proof of residency. Out of district cost is $11,800.00 and the total out of district cost is $17,750.00.
The maximum tuition and fees amount approved for this occupation is $8,000.
