Program Description

n this program the student will be trained to perform assessment tests using technology which records the electrical activity of the heart through the proper placement of electrode patches on the patient's body, and the resulting EKG rhythms provide valuable data used in diagnosing heart conditions. The student will be trained to preform the following tasks: Measure basic vital signs and perform rapid response procedures Operate an EKG machine and interpret output Prepare for, perform, and monitor EKG testing Record lead placement, measure and identify rhythms Prepare patients for, perform, and monitor stress tests and Ind-Holter monitoring 375 Hours (with an additional 20 optional externship hours)
