Program Description
Cancer Registrars collect and code data that provides essential information to researchers, healthcare providers, and public health officials for the advancement of screening programs, cancer treatment and prevention. The Cancer Registry Management Program will train students in case finding, coding, and staging of disease and treatment for proper abstracting. Students will also learn about case follow-up, data quality, registry operations and cancer registry accreditation. The Cancer Registry Management program is fully online and prepares a student to take the Cancer Tumor Registrar National Examination. The Cancer Registry Certificate is intended for students who have completed an associate's or bachelor's degree. Students with a degree in Health Information Management are at an advantage as prerequisites are already met!
