Program Description

The skills taught in this certificate are the same as the Siemens Level I Mechatronics System Assistant skills. Students completing this certificate will have mechanical, electrical, and controls training enabling them to understand and work on automated systems to perform routine, preventive maintenance; recognize potential equipment malfunctions; localize malfunctions in automated equipment when they do occur; and work as a team member to resolve equipment problems to keep systems running at their maximum efficiency. The student completing this certificate will typically work in clean manufacturing environments that use complex automated systems. The courses in this certificate are the courses in the first year of the AAS in Automation, Robotics, and Mechatronics.
