Program Description

The SHRM Learning System® for SHRM-CP® and SHRM-SCP® Certification Preparation program offered by Northern Illinois University is a comprehensive study program designed to help candidates prepare for the exam required to earn the globally recognized professional credentials administered by the SHRM Certification Commission and demanded in todays global HR marketplace. This competency and knowledge-based program focuses on topics required to help HR professionals succeed and excel in their respective HR roles. The content of this program includes: 1. HR Competencies; 2. People; 3. Organization 4. Workplace. Other HR professionals and business leaders who may not be eligible or have an interest in sitting for the certification exams but would like a more in-depth understanding of HR management roles and responsibilities may also participate in this program for professional development purposes only. This course is NOT appropriate to those seeking to transition into a career as a HR professional. Experience in HR or a related field is required.

NIU CANNOT accept exam fees on behalf of the student. SHRM exam Nonmember fees:$595(SHRM CP);$695(SHRM SCP). Pls. visit other exam fees, ex. early bird and SHRM member fees, https://www.shrm.org/credentials/certification/exam-options-fees. Case Managers should confirm the process for managing the exam fee with the candidate. If requesting paperwork to document course details, please allow 3-5 days for completion.
