Program Description
Pharmacy technicians have become indispensable to the health care industry, therefore, it's a great time to train in this growing field. Students will gain the skills and knowledge to qualify for entry-level positions in pharmacies as well as prepare themselves for national certification. Students will learn pharmacy medical terminology, how read and interpret prescriptions, and define generic and brand name drugs. Students also have the opportunity to apply for a 100+ hour externship.
This program is entirely online. Once registered, students will have twelve (12) months to complete.
Upon completion of the course, students will be prepared to sit for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE), offered by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB). In order to sit for the national certification exam, students must be 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
