Program Description
The Truck Driver Training Advanced Proficiency Certificate is for individuals pursuing their Class A commercial drivers license. This certificate, unlike the basic certificate, provides options for students to bring enhanced soft skills and business related skills to area employers. Local trucking representatives recognized the diverse skills needed by the industry and felt it was important to provide a variety of course options to allow students to customize the certificate to meet their specific employment needs. Individuals completing this certificate program will also complete the National Safety Council (NSC) Defensive Driving for the Professional Truck Driver certification. Students must meet with the Truck Driver Training Program Coordinator and verify their completion of six credit hours from the elective list before being allowed to enroll in the dedicated TDT courses.
