Program Description
Students learn how to Gas Metal Arc weld (GMAW) or Metal Inert Gas (MIG)weld and Gas Tungsten Arc weld (GTAW) or Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) weld in all positions on different materials such as mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. Students will learn basic OAW and GTAW (TIG) welding with mild steel. Students will gain comprehensive knowledge and skills necessary to work in production and fabrication occupations that require welding. American Welding Society (AWS) procedures are followed throughout the program. The wider range of skills offered in the AAS degree will provide students with enhanced employment options.
