Program Description

Learners will obtain the basic and advanced skills necessary to gain entry into welding production and related occupations. Students learn how to weld using the gas metal arc welding (GMAW) process in a variety of positions using steel plates and pipe. There are three stackable certificates that lead to the Production Welding Technology AAS.GMAW Intermediate enables learners to increase their skill level from the basic certificate while increasing their employment marketability. The intermediate certificate adds the OAW and FCAW processes as well as blueprint reading and metallurgy.
