Program Description

This 60-credit-hour program is designed for individuals interested in expanding previous general office experience or health care training in order to gain the necessary skills to supervise a health care facility. Career options are plentiful and diversified, and include employment in medical offices, clinics, extended care facilities, home health care agencies, or various departments with acute-care settings. Students must complete the general education courses and health care core courses. Additionally, the student has the option to specialize in health care skills and in business-related course work, depending on the student's career objectives. The program my be taken part-time and some courses are available on an evening schedule, online or blended. 3WIOA and TAA students need to contact the Harper College Workforce Coordinator at (847) 925-6782 or WIOA@harpercollege.edu. A separate book voucher is required for Follett Bookstore #1341 on campus. Books can be ship if requested for a small fee. Each semester, all Cook County WIOA sending agency case managers must supply the Harper College Workforce Coordinator with a Semester Training Schedule Approval Form that lists the courses the client will be taking that semester, and this must match the client's Harper Educational Plan.4 The maximum tuition and fees amount approved for this occupation is $5,000.
