Program Description
This 30 credit-hour certificate is designed to provide individuals with the necessary accounting courses to qualify for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam. The program is intended for individuals who already have a bachelor's degree and wish to transition to a career in the field of accounting. Requirements for the Illinois CPA Certificate:
To sit for the CPA examination in Illinois effective July 1, 2013, the candidate must have a total of 150 hours of acceptable college-level education including at least a bachelor's degree. Thirty semester hours must be in accounting. An additional 24 hours in business courses are required, including two hours in business communications and three hours in business ethics. (Business Law is also included in the business requirements).

Application Procedure
3WIOA and TAA students need to contact the Harper College Workforce Coordinator at (847) 925-6782 or WIOA@harpercollege.edu. A separate book voucher is required for Follett Bookstore #1341 on campus. Books can be ship if requested for a small fee. Each semester, all Cook County WIOA sending agency case managers must supply the Harper College Workforce Coordinator with a Semester Training Schedule Approval Form that lists the courses the client will be taking that semester, and this must match the client's Harper Educational Plan.4
The maximum tuition and fees amount approved for this occupation is $5,000.
