Program Description
The Project Management Specialist + CAPM/PMP course prepares new and experienced managers to excel with structured project implementation and management skills. Individuals with no experience will earn the Harper CE Project Management Specialist Certificate. Individuals with less than 3 years work experience should qualify to take the CAPM exam from PMI. Highly experienced individuals should qualify for the PMP certification exam from the Project Management Institute. This course offers a job-related, standards-based approach to successful project management in many industries/fields.The course exceeds the 35 contact hours required by PMI. Students must qualify to apply to the Project Mangement Institute for the CAPM or PMP certification. Students should have 7500 hours of Project Management experience or 4500 hours of PM experience with a Bachelors degree to qualify to apply for PMP designation. Prerequisite: Introduction to Microsoft Windows or equivalent experience.

3WIOA and TAA students need to contact the Harper College Workforce Coordinator at (847) 925-6782 or WIOA@harpercollege.edu. A separate book voucher is required for Follett Bookstore #1341 on campus. Books can be ship if requested for a small fee. Each semester, all Cook County WIOA sending agency case managers must supply the Harper College Workforce Coordinator with a Semester Training Schedule Approval Form that lists the courses the client will be taking that semester, and this must match the client's Harper Educational Plan.4 The maximum tuition and fees amount approved for this occupation is $8,000.
