Program Description
This hands-on training program is ideal for an individual who wants to start an Information Technology career. It teaches you the skills needed to be a computer service technician and network professional. This program covers installation, configuration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and security of computer hardware, software, operating systems, peripherals, cabling, and networks. CCNA certified professionals install, configure and operate LAN, WAN and dial access services for small networks, including but not limited to the use of the following protocols: IP, IGRP, PX, Serial, AppleTalk, Frame Relay, IP, RIP, VLANs, RIP, Ethernet and Acess lists. Cisco certified Network Administrators are qualify to identify, design and recommend the best solutions for small to medium home offices and businesses. This program will also prepare you for 4 highly recognized professional certifications: CompTia A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security, and Cisco CCNA. Prerequisites: familiarity with the function of a computer network and basic knowledge of the difference between hardware and software.

Application Procedure
3WIOA and TAA students need to contact the Harper College Workforce Coordinator at (847) 925-6782 or WIOA@harpercollege.edu. A separate book voucher is required for Follett Bookstore #1341 on campus. Books can be ship if requested for a small fee. Each semester, all Cook County WIOA sending agency case managers must supply the Harper College Workforce Coordinator with a Semester Training Schedule Approval Form that lists the courses the client will be taking that semester, and this must match the client's Harper Educational Plan.4 The maximum tuition and fees amount approved for this occupation is $8,000.
