Program Description

This 16 credit-hour, year-long certificate program prepares ARRT registered radiologic technologists to produce cross-sectional images of the body, utilizing magnetic resonance equipment, in order to diagnose abnormalities that are difficult to evaluate with conventional radiography. This program offers a combination of clinical and didactic educational experiences that will provide the student with the necessary knowledge and skills to become an entry-level MRI technologist. Students will learn the physics and instrumentation of magnetic imaging, clinical procedures and protocols, patient care and radiation safety.

Application Procedure

3WIOA and TAA students need to contact the Harper College Workforce Coordinator at (847) 925-6782 or WIOA@harpercollege.edu. A separate book voucher is required for Follett Bookstore #1341 on campus. Books can be ship if requested for a small fee. Each semester, all Cook County WIOA sending agency case managers must supply the Harper College Workforce Coordinator with a Semester Training Schedule Approval Form that lists the courses the client will be taking that semester, and this must match the client's Harper Educational Plan.4 The maximum tuition and fees amount approved for this occupation is $8,000.
