Program Description
This comprehensive, 61-credit hour degree program gives you the technical and industrial expertise needed to begin a successful career as a heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration installer and/or service technician. The courses in this curriculum are theory-designed and service oriented. Theory courses study heat laws, gas laws, pressures and thermodynamics for energy conservation. Service courses are designed around a strong hands-on philosophy. Emphasis is placed on operation maintenance, service and repairs of heating, air-conditioning and refrigeration systems. Careers in the HVAC/R field are constantly in demand. Graduates of this program can explore multiple job options in the areas of service, installation/design, consulting, sales, and more. Application Procedure
3WIOA and TAA students need to contact the Harper College Workforce Coordinator at (847) 925-6782 or WIOA@harpercollege.edu. A separate book voucher is required for Follett Bookstore #1341 on campus. Books can be ship if requested for a small fee. Each semester, all Cook County WIOA sending agency case managers must supply the Harper College Workforce Coordinator with a Semester Training Schedule Approval Form that lists the courses the client will be taking that semester, and this must match the client's Harper Educational Plan.4 The maximum tuition and fees amount approved for this program is $8,000.
