Program Description
Develop advanced knowledge in residential comfort systems with this 19-credit hour certificate. You will learn about the maintenance and repairs of residential heating and cooling systems and also receive an introduction to duct design, sheet metal fabrication and equipment selection to improve indoor air quality. Classes are taught in our modern, state of the art HVAC/R open lab and focus on the planning, installation, and start-up procedure of residential HVAC systems. Application Procedure
WIOA and TAA students need to contact the Harper College Workforce Coordinator at (847) 925-6782 or WIOA@harpercollege.edu. A separate book voucher is required for Follett Bookstore #1341 on campus. Books can be ship if requested for a small fee. Each semester, all Cook County WIOA sending agency case managers must supply the Harper College Workforce Coordinator with a Semester Training Schedule Approval Form that lists the courses the client will be taking that semester, and this must match the client's Harper Educational Plan. The maximum tuition and fees amount approved for this occupation is $8,000.

- Math - 9th grade level
- Reading - 9th grade level
- Language - Instruction is in English
- Writing - Per required Compass cut-off scores
- Other - Academic advising is required for WIOA clients
