Program Description
Get a comprehensive background in air conditioning and refrigeration service with this 29-credit hour certificate program. You will learn how to perform preventative maintenance, service and repairs on residential and commercial air conditioning and refrigeration systems. The program focuses on practical application, giving you the skills needed to perform system diagnostics and develop troubleshooting techniques. Complete the 10-course program in our unique HVAC/R open lab, a state-of the-art facility featuring more than 70 pieces of commercial and residential equipment. The lab is staffed by expert instructors who are available to assist you six days per week, making this program accommodating to your busy schedule.

Application Procedure
3WIOA and TAA students need to contact the Harper College Workforce Coordinator at (847) 925-6782 or WIOA@harpercollege.edu. A separate book voucher is required for Follett Bookstore #1341 on campus. Books can be ship if requested for a small fee. Each semester, all Cook County WIOA sending agency case managers must supply the Harper College Workforce Coordinator with a Semester Training Schedule Approval Form that lists the courses the client will be taking that semester, and this must match the client's Harper Educational Plan.4 The maximum tuition and fees amount approved for this occupation is $8,000.

- Writing - Per required Compass cut-off scores
- Other - Academic advising is required for WIOA clients
