Program Description

Get an overview of basic maintenance principles with this 18-credit hour certificate program. You will develop the skills and knowledge needed to seek entry-level employment in the building and residential maintenance industries. Take classes in electrical wiring, prints and schematics, carpentry, plumbing, machining processes, basic technical mathematics, heating principles and more. All classes are taught by skilled instructors who are extremely knowledgeable in the maintenance field. Application Procedure

3WIOA and TAA students need to contact the Harper College Workforce Coordinator at (847) 925-6782 or WIOA@harpercollege.edu. A separate book voucher is required for Follett Bookstore #1341 on campus. Books can be ship if requested for a small fee. Each semester, all Cook County WIOA sending agency case managers must supply the Harper College Workforce Coordinator with a Semester Training Schedule Approval Form that lists the courses the client will be taking that semester, and this must match the client's Harper Educational Plan.4 The maximum tuition and fees amount approved for this occupation is $8,000.

  • Reading - 9th grade level
  • Language - Instruction is in English
  • Writing - Per required Compass cut-off scores
  • Other - Advising is required for WIOA clients
