Program Description

AutoCAD is primarily used for architecture and manufacturing, but it can be applied to other industries as well. The Continuing Education AutoCAD Designer program covers the creation of basic 2D drawings using drawing and editing tools, organization of drawing objects on layers, addition of text and basic dimensions, preparation for plotting and more sophisticated techniques for drawing setup and productivity. Subjects include boundaries, regions, templates, dimensioning, annotation, blocks, layout, views, sheet sets and tables. This program also introduces the methods and concepts of 3D modeling. Students explore how to create and modify both solid and surface models.

Application Procedure

3WIOA and TAA students need to contact the Harper College Workforce Coordinator at (847) 925-6782 or WIOA@harpercollege.edu. A separate book voucher is required for Follett Bookstore #1341 on campus. Books can be ship if requested for a small fee. Each semester, all Cook County WIOA sending agency case managers must supply the Harper College Workforce Coordinator with a Semester Training Schedule Approval Form that lists the courses the client will be taking that semester, and this must match the client's Harper Educational Plan.4 The maximum tuition and fees amount approved for this occupation is $5,000.
