Program Description
This program is ideal for an individual who is CompTIA A+ certified or has the equivalent experience. It teaches students the skills needed to be a computer service technician and a network and security professional. This program covers installation, configuration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and security of computer hardware, software, operating systems, peripherals, cabling and networks. It also covers the duties of those who are responsible for monitoring and detecting security incidents in information systems and networks, and for executing a proper response to such incidents. Students will learn all eight CISSP Common Body of Knowledge (CBK) domains. Plus, they will validate knowledge by meeting the necessary preparation requirements to qualify to sit for the CISSP certification exam. Participants will study how to manage communications and networks security, along with administering software development security.

Application Procedure
3WIOA and TAA students need to contact the Harper College Workforce Coordinator at (847) 925-6782 or WIOA@harpercollege.edu. A separate book voucher is required for Follett Bookstore #1341 on campus. Books can be ship if requested for a small fee. Each semester, all Cook County WIOA sending agency case managers must supply the Harper College Workforce Coordinator with a Semester Training Schedule Approval Form that lists the courses the client will be taking that semester, and this must match the client's Harper Educational Plan.4 The maximum tuition and fess amount approved for this occupation is $8,000.
