Program Description

Learn the basics of graphic design for print/web production with this 34-credit-hour certificate program. Youll develop a foundation of knowledge in the graphic arts and print industries, gaining hands-on experience working with the latest computer software and understanding current production techniques. Classes focus on graphic arts technology, desktop publishing, digital imaging, press operations, digital illustration, web foundations, page layout, packaging/finishing/distribution and more. Study with skilled instructors who are all working professionals in their respective fields. Get additional experience outside of the classroom by working in one of Harper Colleges three state-of-the-art graphic arts labs. Each lab is equipped with Mac computers and the latest creative software.

Application Procedure

WIOA and TAA students need to contact the Harper College Workforce Coordinator at (847) 925-6782 or WIOA@harpercollege.edu. A separate book voucher is required for Follett Bookstore #1341 on campus. Books can be ship if requested for a small fee. Each semester, all Cook County WIOA sending agency case managers must supply the Harper College Workforce Coordinator with a Semester Training Schedule Approval Form that lists the courses the client will be taking that semester, and this must match the client's Harper Educational Plan.4 Maximum tuition and fees amount approved for this occupation is $8,000.

  • Prerequisites - Basic computer skills and must own a computer capable of running the program software
  • Other - WIOA students must have initial and ongoing academic advising
