Begin your career as an educator with the 15-credit-hour Infant/Toddler Teacher Assistant program. This certificate provides you with foundational training in infant/toddler care and education. Youll take courses focused on areas such as child development; infant/toddler programs; principles of early childhood curriculum; and health, nutrition and safety. Additionally, youll get hands-on experience working with children at the Harper College Early Childhood Laboratory School, an on-site preschool, where youll train under the guidance of certified education professionals. Credit earned for this certificate can be applied to the Early Childhood Education A.A.S. Application Procedure

WIOA and TAA students need to contact the Harper College Workforce Coordinator at (847) 925-6782 or WIOA@harpercollege.edu. A separate book voucher is required for Follett Bookstore #1341 on campus. Each semester, all Cook County WIOA sending agency case managers must supply the Harper College Workforce Coordinator with a Semester Training Schedule Approval Form that lists the courses the client will be taking that semester, and this must match the client's Harper Educational Plan. The maximum tuition and fees amount approved for this occupation is $5,000.

  • Prerequisites - Background check and CPR Basic Rescuer
  • Other - All Credit seeking WIO customers must have ongoing counseling
