Program Description
Prepare for a career as a health care office manager with this comprehensive, 60-credit-hour degree program. Youll develop the skills necessary to manage day-to-day operations of a medical facility. Upon graduation, you can obtain employment in medical offices, clinics, extended care facilities, home health care agencies or various departments with acute-care settings.
Youll take a variety of courses designed to give you a thorough understanding of health care office management. Areas of study include health care technology and informatics, medical terminology, health care records management, legal and ethical issues in health care, math applications in health care, principles of health insurance billing and health care office management. During the final semester of the program, youll also complete a medical office capstone project.

Application Procedure
WIOA and TAA students need to contact the Harper College Workforce Coordinator at (847) 925-6782 or WIOA@harpercollege.edu. A separate book voucher is required for Follett Bookstore #1341 on campus. Each semester, all Cook County WIOA sending agency case managers must supply the Harper College Workforce Coordinator with a Semester Training Schedule Approval Form that lists the courses the client will be taking that semester, and this must match the client's Harper Educational Plan. The maximum tuition and fees amount approved for this occupation is $5,000.
