Program Description

This 16-credit-hour certificate program is designed for those interested in obtaining basic social media and internet marketing skills that can be used in any entry-level marketing position, or for individuals who want to run social media marketing campaigns for their business start-ups. Courses include: Social Media Management and Measurement, Strategic Communication for a Digital World, Principles of Marketing, Internet Marketing, and Internship in Marketing. Students must select one elective course from the following: Introduction to Public Relations, Sports Marketing, Advertising, Social Commerce and Sales, Internet Fundamentals, or Mobile Apps. Recommendation: While not a program requirement, it is recommended that students complete ENG101 (Composition) or place into ENG101. Established in 2000

Application Procedure

WIOA and TAA students need to contact the Harper College Workforce Coordinator at (847) 925-6782 or WIOA@harpercollege.edu. A separate book voucher is required for Follett Bookstore #1341 on campus. Each semester, all Cook County WIOA sending agency case managers must supply the Harper College Workforce Coordinator with a Semester Training Schedule Approval Form that lists the courses the client will be taking that semester, and this must match the client's Harper Educational Plan. The maximum tuition and fees amount approved for this occupation is $5,000.
