Program Description

The certified Nursing Assistant Program is six-credit hour program that includes theory, lab and clinical experiences. This program can be completed in one semester. Upon completion of this program, graduates are eligible to sit for the Illinois Department of Public Health Nurse Aide Competency Examination. Consistent with the passing of this exam, the candidate's name is entered on the State of Illinois Health Care Worker Registry. The Basic Nursing Assistant Training Program is approved by the Illinois Department of Public Health.

Application Procedure

3WIOA and TAA students need to contact the Harper College Workforce Coordinator at (847) 925-6782 or WIOA@harpercollege.edu. A separate book voucher is required for Follett Bookstore #1341 on campus. Books can be ship if requested for a small fee. Each semester, all Cook County WIOA sending agency case managers must supply the Harper College Workforce Coordinator with a Semester Training Schedule Approval Form that lists the courses the client will be taking that semester, and this must match the client's Harper Educational Plan.4 The maximum tuition and fees amount approved for this occupation is $3,000.

  • Prerequisites - Must have SSN, pass criminal background check
