Program Description

Emphasis is placed on the techniques and technology of the hospitality industry from a management point of view. Graduates of this 60 credit-hour curriculum will be qualified to assume positions as production supervisors, management trainees and small unit managers. Upon successful completion of approved hospitality management courses, students may be granted a Certificate of Completion and a Management Development Diploma from the Educational Foundation of the National Restaurant Association. Upon successful completion of approved hospitality management courses, students may be awarded a certificate from the Educational Institute of the American Hotel and Motel Association. Students must choose a program of study in one of the specialized area: Food Service Operations Management or Hotel Operations Management.

Application Procedure

3WIOA and TAA students need to contact the Harper College Workforce Coordinator at (847) 925-6782 or WIOA@harpercollege.edu. A separate book voucher is required for Follett Bookstore #1341 on campus. Books can be ship if requested for a small fee. Each semester, all Cook County WIOA sending agency case managers must supply the Harper College Workforce Coordinator with a Semester Training Schedule Approval Form that lists the courses the client will be taking that semester, and this must match the client's Harper Educational Plan.4 The maximum tuition and fees amount approved for this occupation is $3,000.
