Program Description
This 50-hour course will prepare students to enter the pharmacy field and take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board's PTCB exam. Course content includes medical terminology specific to pharmacy, reading and interpreting prescriptions and defining drugs by generic and brand names. Students will learn dosage calculations, I.V. flow rates, drug compounding, dose conversions, dispensing of prescriptions, inventory control, billing and reimbursement.

Application Procedure
The student brings any sponsored documents that need to be completed to the PSC Academic and Career Development Advisor located in the Adult Training and Outreach Center. The documents are returned to the sponsoring agency (student) for issuance of the voucher. Once the voucher is received, the student registers in Enrollment services at the main campus. Next, they would take the voucher to the Business office (Main Campus) to have their account updated to reflect they are being sponsored.
The maximum tuition and fees amount approved for this occupation is $3,000.
