Program Description

The program provides the basics in precision measurement, shop math, industrial safety, quality control procedures, process adjustment and monitoring, workflow and production teams, production and material requirements including machining, raw materials, use of hand tools, safety and maintenance, understanding drawings, manual machines and layout, basic lathe operations, CNC milling and turning operations as well as programming. Teamwork, critical thinking, and problem solving are emphasized. Hands-on experience and practical applications are included.

Application Procedure

The student brings any sponsored documents that need to be completed to the PSC Academic and Career Development Advisor located in the Adult Training and Outreach Center. The documents are returned to the sponsoring agency (student) for issuance of the voucher. Once the voucher is received, the student registers in Enrollment services at the main campus. Next, they would take the voucher to the Business office (Main Campus) to have their account updated to reflect they are being sponsored. The maximum tuition and fees amount approved for this occupation is $8,000.
