Program Description

The Certified Nursing Assistant program is designed to provide students with the skills to give basic patient care in a nursing home or hospital. The course includes instruction in basic theory and bedside skills such as bed baths, moving and lifting, enemas, and othe skills. Students will receive practice in a lab setting and in a nursing home. Successful completion of this program qualifies the student for the Illinois Basic Nursing Assistant Certificate and to take the state approved Competency Examination.

Application Procedure

The student brings any sponsored documents that need to be completed to the PSC Academic and Career Development Advisor located in the Adult Training and Outreach Center. The documents are returned to the sponsoring agency (student) for issuance of the voucher. Once the voucher is received, the student registers in Enrollment services at the main campus. Next, they would take the voucher to the Business office (Main Campus) to have their account updated to reflect they are being sponsored. The maximum tuition and fees amount approved for this occupation is $3,000.

  • HS Diploma/GED
  • Physical Exam
  • Writing - Placement into ENG 099 or higher
  • Other - Must be 16 years of age and have Social Security card
