Program Description
The medical assisting program prepares students with the skills necessary to perform a variety of tasks required to provide quality care in healthcare settings. Training includes patient care procedures, specimen collection, administering medications, assisting with examinations, and supporting office operations such as scheduling, billing, and maintaining medical records. Clinical externships are completed off-campus at area healthcare facilities under the supervision of physicians and medical staff. Upon completion of the program, students will be eligible to take the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) examination through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).

Application Procedure
The student brings any sponsored documents that need to be completed to the WIOA liaison located in the Academic Advising Center, main campus building. The documents are returned to the sponsoring agency (student) for issuance of the voucher. Once the voucher is received, the student registers Academic Advising Center located in the main campus. Next, they would take the voucher to the Business office (Main Campus) to have their account updated to reflect they are being sponsored.
Entry Requirements:
- HS Diploma/GED
- Writing - completion of ENG or placement test
- Other - Acceptance into the Medical Assisting program is the only requirement
