Program Description
The AC in EMT (II)6Paramedic is awarded to students who successfully complete the Paramedic Core Curriculum. Courses run for three consecutive semesters starting each fall. Applications are accepted the previous spring. Successful completion of the core curriculum provides eligibility to take the licensing examination offered by the IL Dept. of Public Health or the National Registry of EMTs. The Malcom X Paramedic program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs ( www.caahep.org ) upon the recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP). The program is approved by the IL Dept. of Public Health, Division of Emergency Medical Services and Highway through JHS Cook County (Resource) Hospital.
