Program Description
This non credit class offer through the Daley College Continuing Education Department which provides students training in MIG and TIG Welding and related operation of support equipment such as band saws, iron worker, spot welder and related hand and power tools to qualify for entry level positions in welding related occupations. Operators will learn to weld using manual machines, adjust machines, visually inspect welds, measure parts and read blueprints related to welding. The class is a combination of lecture, homework and hands on operation of machines similar to the type found in industry. Topics including OSHA Safety, Starrett Precsion Measurement, Shop Math and Work Ethic will also be taught in this course. Extensive hands on lab time allows students to have confidence in their skills when they interview with employers.
