Program Description
This non credit class offer through the Daley College Continuing Education Department provides students training in operation of Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) Lathes and Mills to qualify for entry level positions as CNC Machine Operators. Operators will learn to start, load, run, adjust, unload, clean, set tools, measure parts and do basic operator level preventive maintenance on CNC machines. The class is a combination of lecture, homework and hands on operation of machines similar to the type found in industry. Topics including OSHA Safety, Starrett Precision Measurement, Shop Math and Work Ethic will also be taught in this course. Extensive hands on lab time allows students to have confidence in their skills when they interview with employers.
