Program Description
The certificate in Operations Engineering is designed for an individual who already has earned an AAS in IMT or EEAS and are currently employed in industry who want to move into management positions. The additional skills learned in this certificate are designed to open an individuals career to opportunities in management.
Operations Engineers are responsible for the monitoring and operation of plant equipment used in the petrochemical, nuclear and manufacturing industry. They evaluate the unit's operating status and perform troubleshooting of processes and equipment in order to maximize unit reliability and quality production. Many jobs require a background check, and workers are subject to drug and alcohol screenings. Acceptance into this program is required.
