Program Description

The Child Development Career program is designed to prepare students for careers in early childhood care and education, including preparation for employment in DCFS-licensed child care facilities, Head Start programs and and other early childhood facilities. CDEV courses are intentionally organized with practical, competency driven field experiences including support within an on campus early education program. The CDEV AAS is aligned to the statewide IL Gateways Early Childhood and Infant Toddler Credential/Competency system. Graduates of the AAS in CDEV are eligible to submit transcripts and be awarded the Gateways ECE and IT credentials at the Level IV, through an entitled process.
