Program Description
Sterile processing technicians play a critical role in preventing infection by performing and participating in decontamination, cleaning, assembling, packaging, scanning, sterilization, storage and distribution of reusable surgical instrumentation and equipment. This program prepares students to sit for the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) Certified Registered Central Service Technician exam. Students will be eligible for a 40-hour clinical externship. Offered in partnership with CCI. Includes books and supplies. Costs not included in tuition: certification exam, health and safety requirements. Prerequisite: high school equivalent, at least 18 years old.
