Program Description
The Diploma in Patient Care Technician program provides students with the opportunity to study principles of nursing
assisting, phlebotomy, emergency room, electrocardiography, and dialysis. The purpose of this program is to prepare
students professionally and academically to work in a professional health care setting as a patient care technician. The
core curriculum of this program is designed to include lecture and lab components and to include both patient care
and clinical skills preparation. There is an externship experience included where students will gain professional
preparation and practice under the supervision of a site professional and in conjunction with an on-campus externship
coordinator.
