Program Description

The Software Development, Advanced Certificate offers 34 credits hours. In an increasingly digital world, software development is key to the technology we use in our daily lives. There is now a growing need for software developers to create new mobile applications and software services in a variety of businesses and fields. City Colleges Software Development program teaches students several in-demand programming languages, including Python, C++, Java and JavaScript. Through the courses, students will learn the whole life cycle of software and be ready to meet employer demands. The degree program focuses on developing expertise in at least one programming language, obtaining hands-on experience in the analysis, design, implementation, and maintenance of software applications using those languages. Students also build skills in either back end website programming or mobile application development, and gain work-based experience through an internship or field project.
